Description
Small flies with a length of less than 1 mm (0.9 - 0.98). The main color is brown and black with yellow and white marks. The antennae are black. The first submarginal wing cell is closed and triangular, the antennae stylus, located subapical on the second flagellomer. Mesonotum flattened dorsally. The eyes are dichoptic. The species was first described in 2002 by the American dipterologist Neil Evenhus (Center for Research in Entomology, Bishop Museum, Honolulu , Hawaii , USA ). The species name is given by the 16th letter of the Greek alphabet (Pi) [1] [2] [3] .
