Women's swimming competitions at a distance of 400 meters with integrated swimming at the 2016 Summer Olympics were held on August 6 at the Olympic Water Stadium . The competition was attended by 34 athletes from 24 countries. The current Olympic champion in this discipline is the Chinese swimmer E Shiwen .
Multiple world and European champion and record holder Katinka Hossu from Hungary won with a new world record, ahead of the closest pursuer in the final by almost 5 seconds. This was the first Olympic award for Hossu.
