Komsomolskaya CHPP-2

Komsomolskaya CHPP-2 is a thermal power plant in the city of Komsomolsk-on-Amur , Khabarovsk Territory . It is part of the Khabarovsk Generation branch of the Far Eastern Generating Company JSC (part of the RusHydro group). Organizationally, Komsomolskaya CHPP-1 also belongs to the structural unit of the Komsomolskaya CHPP-2 as a workshop. One of the oldest power plants in the Far East of Russia (commissioned in 1935).

Station Construction

Komsomolskaya CHPP-2 is a steam-turbine power plant ( combined heat and power plant ) with combined generation of electricity and heat. The installed capacity of the power plant is 197.5 MW , the installed thermal capacity is 545 Gcal / h . The thermal scheme of the station is made with cross connections for the main steam and water streams, the CHP has two main equipment groups: with a pressure of 90 kgf / cm² and a temperature of 540 ° С (turbine units 5 and 6) and with a pressure of 130 kgf / cm² and temperature of 540 ° C (turbine units number 7 and 8). Natural gas from Sakhalin fields, as well as black and brown coal from various fields, are used as fuel. The main equipment of the station includes: [1] [2]

  • Turbine unit No. 5 with a capacity of 27.5 MW, as part of the T-27.5-90 turbine with a TVS-30 generator, was introduced in 1963;
  • Turbine unit No. 6 with a capacity of 60 MW, as part of a PT-60-90 / 13 turbine with a TVF-60-2 generator, was introduced in 1964;
  • Turbine unit No. 7 with a capacity of 50 MW, as part of the T-55-130 turbine with a TVF-60-2 generator, was introduced in 1969;
  • Turbine unit number 8 with a capacity of 50 MW, as part of the turbine T-55-130 with a generator TVF-60-2, was introduced in 1970.

Steam for turbine units produce 3 boilers BKZ-160-100F and 4 boilers BKZ-210-140F. The technical water supply system is direct-flow, using water from the Amur River. Electricity is supplied to the power system through a 110 kV closed switchgear (110 kV) and a 35 kV open switchgear (PDU) along the following power lines:

  • 110 kV overhead line Komsomolskaya CHP-2 - Komsomolskaya CHP-1, 2 circuits (С-83, С-84);
  • 110 kV overhead line Komsomolskaya CHPP-2 - PS T (C-85);
  • 110 kV overhead line Komsomolskaya CHPP-2 - Substation T with tapping at Parus SS (S-86);
  • 35 kV overhead line Komsomolskaya CHPP-2 - PS Bagernaya - ETZ (T-160);
  • 35 kV overhead line Komsomolskaya CHPP-2 - PS TN - ETZ (T-167).

History of construction and operation

The first small power station in Komsomolsk-on-Amur appeared simultaneously with the foundation of the city, in 1932. In 1933, construction began on the Amur Shipbuilding Plant, and with it the thermal power plant - the future Komsomolskaya CHPP-2. The first turbine unit of the new station with a capacity of 3 MW was launched on November 26, 1935. In 1937, the construction of the second stage of the CHP was started, after its commissioning in 1939, the plant's capacity reached 30 MW. In 1957, the CHP was separated from the shipyard and received the modern name - Komsomolskaya CHPP-2. In 1964, the construction of the third stage of the plant was completed, as a result, the capacity of the Komsomolskaya CHPP-2 increased to 109 MW. In 1970, the construction of the fourth stage was completed (two turbine units of 50 MW each and two boilers). In 1974, Komsomolskaya CHPP-1 was organizationally attached to the station as a workshop. In 1985-1989, the boiler units of the Komsomolskaya CHPP-2 were able to work on natural gas. With the formation of Khabarovskenergo OJSC in 1993, the Komsomolskaya CHPP-2 became part of it. Since 2007, Komsomolskaya CHPP-2 has been a structural division of the Khabarovskaya Generation branch of Far Eastern Generating Company JSC. In 2019, design work was carried out to substantiate the decommissioning of the third stage of the plant (pressure equipment of 90 kgf / cm²) and reconstruction of turbine units No. 7 and 8 with an increase in their total capacity to 110 MW, but as a result, it was decided to abandon the modernization of the station [3 ] [4] [5] [6] .
