The men's 100m backstroke swimming competition at the 2016 Summer Olympics will be held on August 7 and 8 at the Olympic Water Stadium . The competition will bring together 39 athletes from 32 countries. The current Olympic champion in this discipline is the American swimmer Matthew Grivers .
