Biography

Since childhood, did not differ in good health. Subsequently, he revealed epilepsy . One day he accidentally found a textbook on jujitsu and began to study it on his own. He graduated from the Institute of Physical Culture named after P.F. Lesgaft .

Before the war, he graduated from communications courses. He was called up to the Leningrad Front . He trained paratroopers in hand-to-hand combat techniques. Got a heavy concussion . In 1944 he was transferred to the border guards .

While patrolling Leningrad, saving the girl from a truck rushing at her, he himself fell under the wheels. Received numerous injuries and fractures. Doctors claimed that the sport will have to leave. However, Duganov was intensively engaged in physical exercises and completely restored his health. I especially liked the exercises with the barbell.

In 1946, he set the first all-Union record in one-hand bar snatch . He created the modern technique of jerking the bar. It was considered one of the most technical weightlifters in the world. Four times became the champion of the USSR. Set more than 30 records of the USSR, of which 12 became world. In 1957 he left a big sport.

Headed the RSFSR weightlifting team. Under his leadership, the team became the winner of 8 sports contests in a row. Until 1982, he worked as an assistant professor in the weightlifting department of the Moscow Academy of Physical Culture .
