Together with Boris Shats and Marina Vasilev, he is considered one of the three founders of modern sculpture in Bulgaria.

Biography
In 1889 he graduated from the school of ceramics in Bohemia . Over the next three years, he taught at the State Craft School in Sofia .
Later, until 1898, he studied sculpture at the Munich Academy of Arts . He graduated from the Academy with honors and was awarded a silver medal. In 1896-1897 participated in exhibitions in Germany.
In 1898 he returned to his homeland and began teaching painting at the first Sofia Classical Gymnasium and at the State Drawing School (now the Bulgarian National Academy of Art ). Rector of the Academy (1909-1911, 1924-1926, 1929-1930).

Creativity
A bright representative of Bulgarian sculpture. He took his first creative steps at the beginning of the 20th century, having experienced the influence of such major classics as Donatello and others, until he found his own individual style.
The author of a number of busts, monuments and sculptures of historical figures and contemporaries.
The images of cultural figures, revolutionaries and public figures created by him speak of the rich portrait work of Zheko Spiridonov. The truthfulness and sense of artistic measure are characteristic of the sculptor's work.
