Sinfonia varsovia

In 1972, Jerzy Maksymiuk founded the Polish Chamber Orchestra, which later gained fame under the new name Sinfonia Varsovia. In 1978, Franciszek Vybranchik became director.

It was founded in 1984 as a result of the expansion of the Polish Chamber Orchestra. At the invitation of Waldemar Dombrowski, Director General of the Center for the Arts Studio. S.I. Vitkevich in Warsaw and Franciszek Wybranchik ^[1] , the director of the Polish Chamber Orchestra already operating, legendary violinist Yehudi Menuhin came to perform in Poland as a soloist and conductor . In order to meet the needs of the planned repertoire, the composition of the orchestra was increased by invited outstanding musicians from all over the country. The first concerts of the collective under the leadership of Yehudi Menuhin were enthusiastically received by the public and critics, and Menukhin himself did not hesitate to accept the offer to become the first invited conductor of the newly created orchestra.

Since January 1, 2008, the Sinfonia Varsovia Orchestra has been a self-governing cultural institution. The founder of the orchestra is the city of Warsaw . The scope of the orchestra as a cultural institution includes activities, artistic, educational and the dissemination of music.

In 2010, he received his own building - the former Institute of Veterinary Medicine Graduate School of Agriculture on Grokhovskaya street 272 (southern Prague). By a decision of the Warsaw Council and its President, Hannah Gronkevich-Waltz, in June 2010, an international, open, two-stage architectural competition for the design of a new concert hall for more than 1800 spectators and the improvement of architectural real estate on ul. Grokhovskaya 272. The competition was won by a project submitted by Atelier Thomas Pucher from Graz ( Austria ).
