The main competition in the men's high jump took place on February 21, 1981. Qualification in the championship was not held, so 24 athletes immediately went into the sector. For the first time in his career, Swiss Roland Dulhauser became the champion of Europe in the room. One of the favorites of the competition, USSR champion Alexey Demyanyuk , did not take the initial height [1] .
