The son of a professor of medicine Johann Bernhard Quistorp. He was an ordinary professor in Rostock and Buttsovo . Quistorp's main work is The Foundations of German Criminal Law ( German: Grundsätze des deutschen peinlichen Rechts ; Rostock, 1770 ; 6th ed. 1810 - 1828 ).
