Novitsky, Andrzej

Andrzej Ruslav Frederic Novitsky ( Polish Andrzej Rusław Fryderyk Nowicki ; born May 27, 1919 in Warsaw , d. December 1, 2011 ) - Polish philosopher of culture, historian of philosophy and atheism , religious scholar , art connoisseur, diplomat . The creator of the philosophical system, which he called the "ergantopy-controversial system of the philosophy of meetings in things." Lecturer at the university with the title of professor at the University of Warsaw (1952-1963), at the University of Wroclaw (1963-1973), at the Marie Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin (1973-1991). Co-founder and chairman of the Association of Atheists, and the Polish Religious Society. Founder and editor-in-chief of Svet magazine. In 1997-2002, the Grand Master of the Great East of Poland [1] , member of the All-Polish Committee of the Unity Front of the People in 1958 [2] .

Biography

In 1934-1937 he belonged to the socialist youth organization of secondary schools "Spartak", operating under the auspices of the Socialist Party in 1937-1939 for the Union of Independent Socialist Youth .

In 1937, he passed the exam for the certificate of maturity in the gymnasium. Stanislava Staszica in Warsaw. He studied philosophy at the University of Warsaw . He was a student of Vladislav Vitvitsky.

During World War II, he was a member of the socialist group Flame. Since 1942 in the Union of Armed Forces . In 1942-1944 he was a member of the PSP Department and political affairs officer of the III Company named after Paris Commune in the battalion OW PPS. Yaroslav Dombrovsky, editor-in-chief of the magazine "Light" and a member of the editorial committee of the journal "Socialist Youth". In the period 1945-1948 he worked in Lublin at PPS.

In the first years after the war, even during his membership in the PSP, he held the position of cultural attache in the Polish diplomatic mission of Italy.

In 1948-1981 he was a member of the PUWP . Through many mediums, he was criticized for participating in anti-religious propaganda at the age of 40 and 50.

Then Andrzej contacted Freemasonry . After four terms, he held the post of great master of the Great East of Poland , was an honorary great master. He served as vice president of the Polish national group Universala Framasona Ligo.

Since 1938 he was a member of the Polish Philosophical Society. In 1977 he was an honorary member of TKKŚ, and since 2007 he was a member of the honorary committee of the Polish Association of Rationalists.

As part of his scientific work, he was primarily concerned with Giulio Vanini , to whom he devoted several books and numerous articles, as well as to the face of Giordano Bruno . As part of these studies, he maintained live contacts with Italian scientific environments, and was published in Italian journals. His scientific achievements in this field were also valued symbolically in Italy, as he was awarded medals for his contribution to the study of Renaissance thought.

As an ergantropist he was interested in the spiritual achievements of various cultures, including painting, literature, was a music lover.

While already retired, guided by an interest in Chinese culture, he began to independently study the Chinese language.

His works include more than 1200 titles, including more than 1000 written in Polish, 142 in Italian, and the remaining several dozen in 10 other languages. He is the author of about 50 books.

He had three children. His son Svyatoslav Florian Novitsky, philosopher and astrologer, former husband of the famous Polish politician Wanda Novitskaya.
