Kwassir

Kvasir , Kvazir ( dr. Scand. Kvasir [1] [2] [3] ) - in Germanic-Scandinavian mythology, a creature that arose from the saliva of aces and Vanes , who performed a ceremonial mixture of saliva in a bowl at the conclusion of the world . Perhaps, he initially personified the intoxicated drink obtained as a result of the fermentation process ( mash , beer , kvass , etc.). In the Earth Circle in the Yngling Saga, it refers to the van.

Kwassir was so wise that he could answer any question. After reconciling the aces and vanes, he went to teach people wisdom , but they did not listen to the words of the little sage. Then Kwassir went to Svartalfaheim . There he met two door brothers - Fialar and Galar. They killed Kvassir, and made a drink from his blood. Everyone who tried it at least once became a skilled poet, for which the drink was nicknamed "the honey of poetry ." The Asov brothers convinced that Kvassir died of his own wisdom, which no questions could reduce in him.

Notes
