On a single voting day on September 10, 2017, the Russian Federation held 5810 election campaigns of various levels and 242 local referenda in 82 constituent entities of the Russian Federation (in all constituent entities except Ingushetia , Magadan Oblast, and St. Petersburg ). These include the election of the heads of 16 constituent entities of the Federation (as well as 1 election through a vote in parliament), the election of deputies of 6 legislative bodies of state power in the constituent entities of Russia, and additional elections to the State Duma in 2 single-member constituencies. The election was held in early June 2017. In regions where governors resigned after June 10, elections will be held on a single voting day in 2018 [2] .
By-elections to the State Duma
In connection with the appointment of S. Ye. Naryshkin to the post of director of the Foreign Intelligence Service , the Central Election Commission will call additional elections in Kingisepp single-mandate constituency for a single voting day in 2017 [3] .
In June 2017, deputy Vladimir Zhutenkov , elected from the Bryansk single-mandate constituency, resigned [4] .
On June 17, 2017, Oleg Grishchenko , the deputy and former head of the city of Saratov , who was elected from the Saratov single-mandate constituency, died [5] . Elections in the Saratov constituency will be held after a single voting day, since the deadline for calling elections on this date has expired [6] .

Now the parties will propose candidates for consideration by the President of Russia, who will determine three candidates from among whom the deputies of the local parliament will choose a new head by secret ballot.

Interesting Facts
- On a single voting day on September 10, 2017, one of the candidates received only one voter’s vote, which was enough to go to the council, to the Council of Deputies of the Velikovisochny Village Council of the Nenets Autonomous Okrug . This was due to the small number of voters, as well as to a low turnout (8.84%) [43] in the five-member constituency in the village of Velikovisovoe [44] .
