Most likely, it was the competitive factor that became the incentive for the Yelansk designers to upgrade the PR110D bus. The prototype of the tourist bus T120 was presented during the International Fair in 1993 and received air-conditioning equipment. In relation to the PR110D, Jelcz T120 had an identical design and overall dimensions, and the body was subjected only to cosmetic changes. They touched, above all, the interior decoration, which was supposed to provide a higher level of passenger comfort. The new bus received non-woven wallpaper on the ceiling and side surface, additional coverage on the floor and in the aisle, other upholstery fabrics of the seats. Efficient cabin heating provided several independent water heaters.

Bus T120 received an improved diesel engine supercharged model SWT11 / 311 with a maximum power of 260 hp This engine was installed behind the rear axle and came with a 6-speed manual model S6-90. Drive axle type MT1032.A was upgraded, and received a lower gear ratio (5.125, in contrast to Jelczu PR110D - 5.86). The use of the new engine made minor design changes in the back of the bus. Jelcz T120 has become quieter compared to the PR110D, mainly due to changes in the discharge system, as well as isolation of the chamber. The maximum speed of the car was 106 km / h. Depending on the configuration (Standard and Comfort were assumed), the bus could accommodate from 48 to 50 passengers, while their mass was, respectively, 10,750 kg (Standard) and 10,800 kg (Comfort). For both versions assumed the same, the total weight - 16 000 kg.

Standard equipment included sliding top side window panes, two electric fans, two doors and passenger seats without tilt adjustment. Tourist equipment Comfort had, in addition, individual fan heaters for each passenger seat and folding seats. It was decided to abandon the sliding glass in the side windows. There was the possibility of installing a toilet and air conditioning. Designers JZS assumed, besides, in a batch production of model Comfort to establish more powerful engine, type SWT11 / 309 with the maximum power of 280 hp, however this project was not realized.

The doors in Jelcz T120, as in the case of the PR110D, are placed according to the formula 2-0-1, with the first door being automatic and the second manually. In addition, there is the usual driver's door on the front left side. Under the bottom of the car are the trunk volume of 6 m³. Fastener covers are made of aluminum, which had a significant impact on the corrosion resistance of the body. Serial production of the T120 bus began at the Jelcz factory only in 1992. This car is replaced in the proposal JZS model D120.
