Content
Story
Francesco, a young Italian, comes to Istanbul to formalize and sell the inheritance left to him by his aunt, who lived most of her life in Turkey.
Many years ago, aunt bought a hamam in the city center and made him the best in the area. Francesco, who initially sought to quickly sell this inheritance and return to Italy, meets people who were the second family of his aunt, reads old letters, plunges into the atmosphere of Istanbul and at the decisive moment refuses to sign a deal to sell the hamam, which he now wants to restore. This act promises great trouble for Francesco, since an influential group of people is going to build a new expensive shopping complex on the site of the hammam.

The film “Turkish Bath” won three Golden Oranges in 1997 in the nominations: Best Film, Best Director ( Ferzan Ozpetek ) and Best Film Music ( Pivio and Aldo De Scalzi ) [1] .
At the Ankara International Film Festival in 1998, the picture won in three categories: Best Actress in a Supporting Role (Sheriff Sezer), Most Promising Actor ( Mehmet Gunsur ) and Most Promising Actress (Bashak Keklukaya)
