Biography
Ihtiyor Abdullaev was born on May 22, 1966 in the Uchkuprik district of the Ferghana region . He graduated from Perm State University with a degree in law.
At different times he worked: as a bailiff of the Ferghana City Court (1988 - 1990); Advisor and Chief Advisor to the Department of Justice of the Ferghana Region (1990 - 1993); trainee judge, acting chairman of the Ferghana City Court (1993 - 1995); judge of the Ferghana regional court, chairman of the judicial board for criminal cases (1995 - 1997); Assistant for Citizenship and Amnesty of the Office of the State Advisor to the President of Uzbekistan for Coordination of Law Enforcement and Control Bodies (1997 - 2000).
In 2000, he was appointed chairman of the Andijan Regional Court, whose position was until 2001; served as Deputy State Advisor to the President for coordination of law enforcement and control authorities (2001 - 2002); First Deputy Minister of Justice (2002 - 2006); Acting State Advisor to the President on improving the legal framework for reforming and updating the country (2006 - 2007); State Advisor to the President on coordination of law enforcement and control authorities (2007 - 2009); Director of the Institute for Monitoring Current Legislation under the President of Uzbekistan (2006 - 2009).
In 2009, he became the State Advisor to the President of Uzbekistan [3] . On January 22, 2010, by decree of the President of Uzbekistan, he was appointed a member of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the second convocation [4] . On January 20, 2015, by a decree of the President of Uzbekistan, Ikhtiyor Abdullaev was again appointed senator [5] .
On April 21, 2015, Ihtiyor Abdullaev assumed the post of Prosecutor General of the Republic of Uzbekistan [6] .
On January 31, 2018, he was appointed as the chairman of the National Security Service [7] .
On February 11, 2019, Ihtiyor Abdullaev left the post of chairman of the State Security Service of his own free will due to poor health (being the head of the department, he underwent two complex surgical operations on the cervical and lumbar spine, as well as an eye operation [8] ) [9] .
