History
The Civil Defense Honor Cross was established by royal decree of November 6, 2003 .
Regulation
The cross is intended to reward civil defense employees who have shown ingenuity in life-threatening conditions.
Description
Silver cross of blue enamel with a side with expanding ends and strals in the form of a pointed ray of the same enamel. In the center of the cross there is a round medallion with the emblem of the Norwegian Civil Defense: a lion walking heraldically to the right, holding a Varangian shield in the front paw under the Norwegian royal heraldic crown .
The reverse of the cross is frosted. In the center there is an inscription in three lines: “HONOR / ET / CARITAS” (Honor and charity)
White ribbon cross with two blue stripes at the edges.
