Story

The film is made from video materials found in the forest on May 15, 2014.

Twenty years after the events of 1994 , when a group of young filmmakers disappeared into the woods during the filming of a documentary about a local legend - the witch from Blair. One of the local young people finds lost video cameras in the forest and uploads fragments of YouTube recordings. To James, the younger brother of the disappeared Heather Donahue, it seems that one of the fragments shot in the witch’s house shows a female silhouette. He decides to go into the forest in search of this house, hoping that his sister may still be there. The company of James is Lisa, who wants to make a documentary, as well as their friends Peter and Ashley. Later they were joined by Lane and Talia, who found video cameras in the forest. The group is equipped with various recording equipment, including GPS-navigators, mini-cameras mounted on the head, as well as a drone with a camera.

The company makes its way into the thicket. When crossing the creek, Ashley pierces her leg, but she is bandaged and she can move on. At night, around the camp, loud sounds of breaking branches or falling trees are heard, and in the morning young people find humanoid figures from sticks hanging around, witch symbols. Everyone is scared and want to get back to the cars. On the way, it turns out that Lane and Talia forged the figures, because they wanted the company to return, since there could be a real danger in the forest. Peter drives Lane and Thalia away, and then a group of the four remaining goes towards the fence around the forest. However, after a few hours, the company finds itself at the place where they camped last night. Ashley gets worse and they decide to spend the night again in the same place in the tents. The drone, with the help of which Lisa wants to explore the area in search of a stream or fence, breaks and falls, falling into the crown of a tree.

At night, Peter goes after the firewood, but again hears the sounds of breaking branches around and tries to escape from the sounds of harassment. A tree falls on him and he hears that someone is approaching. James sets off in search, but finds only the fallen tree and Peter's flashlight. James and Lisa try to sleep, and when the alarm goes off, they find that although it is already 7 o’clock in the morning, it is as dark around as at night. A lot of humanoid stick figures again appear around the tents. Suddenly, ragged Lane and Talia appear without backpacks. From afar, Lane screams that they have been wandering the forest for five days, and the sun does not rise. Waist goes up to the tents and notices that on one of the figures her hair is dyed blue. Ashley grabs the figure from Talia’s hands and breaks it, and at that moment Talia herself also breaks in half. An invisible force raises the tents and throws them to the ground. In horror, James, Lisa and Ashley run away. Ashley notices a drone on the tree and tries to get it, but something throws it off the tree and drags it into the darkness.

James and Lisa find each other and try to look for Ashley. It's starting to rain. Suddenly they see in front of them the wooden house they are looking for. A woman screams in the house, and James, thinking that it is Heather, goes inside, despite the protests of Lisa. In a house with many corridors and rooms, he hears footsteps and sees a female figure running away, which follows from floor to floor. Lisa is waiting on the street, but suddenly sees behind the trees an unknown creature of high stature with long elongated limbs; frightened, she hides in the house in search of James. She meets the distraught Lane, who throws Lisa into the basement. She manages to get out through the underground tunnel, but she is again attacked by Lane, whom she kills with a knife in the dark. A creature with long limbs emerges from the tunnel and begins to chase after Lisa, and she runs upstairs, thereby creating a paradoxical video that led them all to these forests. Once in the attic, she discovers James there. A bright glow appears outside the building, indicating the arrival of the witch. When the creature bursts into the room, James asks Lisa to turn to the wall and close her eyes, because she will not touch them if not to look at him.

It begins to seem to James that Heather is talking to him, he turns around, and the creature pulls him away. Lisa tries to get out of the house by turning the camera back. When she hears the voice of James, she also turns around. Something pounced on her, and the camera falls to the ground.
