General physical and geographical characteristics
The village is located within the Caspian lowland , near the railway station Seroglazovo [2] , at an altitude of 22 meters below sea level. The relief is flat. A feature of the relief is the spread of the so-called Baer mounds up to 15-20 meters high. In the vicinity of the village - Small Sands. The nearest river Ashuluk is located 1.7 km south-west of the village [2] . The soil is brown. The parent rocks are sands [3] .
By road, the distance to the regional center of Astrakhan is 110 km, to the regional center of Kharabali - 54 km, to the village of Volnoe - 5 km [4] .

The climate is sharply continental , extremely arid (according to the Köppen-Geiger climate classification - Bsk ). The average annual air temperature is + 9.3 ° C, the average temperature of the coldest month of January is 6.7 ° C, the hottest month of July is + 25.0 ° C.
