Biography
He worked as a journalist. In 1933 he was forced to emigrate from Germany. In 1945, upon his return to his homeland, he founded the publishing house Volk und Welt, which he directed for several years. He is the author of screenwriting films about Ernst Thalmann (with Willy Bredel) and about Karl Liebknecht (with Gunther Reisch and others).
Member of the jury of the Second Moscow International Film Festival .
