The village is located within the Kulundinskaya plain belonging to the West Siberian plain .

The distance to the district center of the village of Kulunda is 28 km, to the regional center of Barnaul - 375 km [2] .

The climate is temperate continental . The average annual temperature is + 2.2 ° C. The warmest month of the year is July, with an average temperature of 20.7 ° C. History

The village was founded in 1905. Before these places were settled by immigrants from the European part of Russia, Kazakhs roamed here, and the name of the settlement at this place was Karakuduk (in translation - “black well”). However, the settlers decided to give the settlement a different name, and in honor of one of the cities of Ukraine it was called Zlatopol. The first inhabitants of Zlatopol were immigrants from the Oryol, Kiev, Kharkov and Poltava provinces [2] . In 1928, the village of Zlatopol consisted of 187 households, the main population - Ukrainians. The center of the Zlatopolsky village council of the Klyuchevsky district of the Slavgorod district of the Siberian region, the main population - Ukrainians [7] .
