Description

The bulb is ovoid, 1.5-3 cm in diameter [2] .
The leaves are linear in an amount of 4 to 7, 0.5-1.2 cm wide, shorter than the stem, keeled [2] [3] .
Peduncle 1-2 bract-like leaves. The flower brush holds 15–90 flowers and has a length of 20–25 cm. The flowers are actinomorphic, tepals violet-blue, 1-2 cm long and 0.3–0.5 cm wide. After flowering, they twist together around the ovary and fall off early in fruit. The pedicels are thin, 1.5-2.5 cm long. Anthers yellow or purple. It blooms in spring [2] .
The fruit is a box, almost spherical, dull, green, 5-10 mm long and 5-8 mm wide, falls off when ripe; in nests of 2-5 seeds [2] [3] .
The set of chromosomes is 2n = 30 [3] .
Distribution and Ecology
Wet meadows at an altitude of 200-400 m in southwestern Oregon [3] [4] , endemic to the state.
Security
In organizations, NatureServe has a 2G conservation status - endangered. Limited Oregon Endemic. There are about 23 habitats. Many places where plants grow are in danger of extinction due to the development of housing, mining, grazing, fires and road repairs [5] .
