Buribaevskaya SES ( Bashkorbay Koyash Electr Stations ) - a solar power plant in the territory of the Khaibullinsky district of Bashkortostan near the village of Buribay . The first stage with a capacity of 10 MW was commissioned on October 29, 2015 [4] . The second phase with a capacity of 10 MW was commissioned on December 5, 2016 [5] . At the time of the opening, the Buribaevskaya SES became the most powerful SES of Russia excluding the Crimean ones. It is the first industrial solar power plant in Bashkortostan.

Background
The Buribaevskaya SES is one of seven solar power plants with a total capacity of 59 megawatts, which is planned to be built in Bashkortostan from 2015 to 2018 [6] . Information about the creation of the first solar power station on the territory of the republic appeared in 2013 [7] . The projects are implemented in accordance with the Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation dated May 28, 2013 No. 449 “On the Mechanism for Promoting the Use of Renewable Energy Sources”, which establishes guarantees of return on investment in the construction of renewable energy through the mechanism of contracts for the supply of power [1] .
Construction
The design and construction of the Buribaevskaya SES was carried out by the company LLC Avelar Solar Technology. The solar modules produced by the Russian company Hevel were tested by the Ufa Aviation University , the choice of a site for the station construction was conducted jointly with the Ministry of Industry and Innovation Policy of the Republic of Belarus [7] . According to the director of Avelar Solar Technology (a subsidiary of Hevel) Aidar Khafizov, the southern regions of the republic have good insolation . The level of insolation in Bashkortostan is 1.3 thousand kilowatt-hours per square meter per year, which corresponds to the indicators of southern Europe [8] [3] . The number of sunny days in Bashkiria is about 260, for comparison - in Sochi - 190, in Moscow - 114 [6] .
Construction of the station began on May 28, 2015 [1] [9] , and the launch of the first stage of 10 MW took place in late October of the same year [2] . Buribaevskaya power plant became the first SES of Bashkortostan.

Buribaevskaya SES is the first industrial solar power plant in Bashkortostan, but before its opening on the territory of the republic there were low-power private SESs. For example, in January 2015, the Severny settlement completely switched to supply from a wind-solar power station [10] .
March 1, 2016 Buribaevskaya SES introduced to the wholesale electricity market [11] .
Description
In the construction used 88 thousand thin-film modules, the occupied area was 40 hectares [3] . 70% of components produced in Russia. The volume of investments for all seven stations amounted to 6 billion rubles [6] , directly for the Buribaevskaya SES - about 1 billion [3] . The loan to Hevel subsidiaries for the construction of the Buribaevskaya SES was provided by Gazprombank [12] . The lease of land for a power plant is granted for 49 years [8] . In cloudy weather, the station is capable of generating 20–25% of the energy from the installed capacity, in winter - 70%. According to Ildar Shakhmayev, Deputy Minister of Industry and Innovation Policy of Bashkortostan, if necessary, the capacity can be increased to 50 MW [9] .
According to the representative of “Avelar Solar Technology”, the commissioning of the Buribayev SES will help increase the reliability of the region’s power system and reduce the energy deficit during peak hours in the southern regions of the country [13] . According to Ildus Yakhin, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Nature Use and Ecology of the Republic of Belarus , commissioning solar power plants in Bashkiria will have a beneficial effect on the environment and will help reduce harmful emissions by 53 thousand tons per year [6] .
Buying electricity from Buribaevskaya SES costs the government 4 times more than the market price - 8 rubles per kW / h. But when laying power lines to the area in which the station is located, the cost of electricity would have been even more expensive [14] .
In addition to the already under construction power plants in Bashkortostan, several more power plants with a capacity of up to 90 MW by 2020 may be introduced [8] .
Criticism
According to the head of the Bashkir Electric Grid Company and Kurultay of the Republic of Belarus Andrei Makarov, despite the attractiveness of the technology, for grid companies such as BESK, there are more significant projects than solar generation [15] . In addition, Andrei Makarov criticized solar power stations for their inability to generate electricity at night: “solar generation works during the day, and at night there is no sun, while the peak of energy consumption is 9 o'clock in the evening. And there are no powerful drives to accumulate during the day and give at night. ”
Igor Baikov, director of ANO Center for Energy Conservation of the Republic of Belarus, noted that the efficiency of such power plants will decrease by several percent each year as a result of the wear of batteries [14] . The power of photovoltaic modules in the degradation process is annually reduced by about 1%.
