In 1603, Prince Mikhail Fedorovich Kashin-Obolensky was appointed the first governor in Chernigov . His comrades and deputies were the princes Gabriel Semenovich Korkodinov and Grigory Petrovich Shakhovskaya .
In 1604, Tsar Boris Godunov sent to Bryansk the Russian army, consisting of three regiments, which was supposed to act against the Polish-Lithuanian units of False Dmitry. Prince Mikhail Fedorovich Kashin was appointed the second governor of a large regiment (under Prince Dmitry Ivanovich Shuisky ). M.F. Kashin deputized with Mikhail Glebovich Saltykov , the first governor of the guard regiment . Then, in a campaign on the Seversky land, Mikhail Fedorovich Kashin was the second governor of the regiment of the right hand (under Prince D.I. Shuisky ). Despite the “ lovely ” letters of the traitors, he first remained loyal to Tsar Boris Godunov and participated in the unsuccessful battle for the Tsar’s army near Trubchevsky ,
After the death of Boris Godunov and the accession to the throne of his son Fedor, Prince Mikhail Fyodorovich Kashin was the second governor of the regiment of the right hand (under the boyar of Prince V.V. During the reign of Tsar Vasily Shuisky, Prince Mikhail Fedorovich Kashin was granted the boyar and was appointed the first governor in Bryansk . In 1607, together with the second governor Andrei Nikitich Rzhevsky, he strengthened in Bryansk . While advancing to Bryansk, False Dmitry Tsar Vasily Shuisky sent an army under the command of Prince Ivan Semenovich Kurakin and Vasily Fedorovich Mosalsky to help the Bryansk governors. The Impostor, who stood under it for a long time, could not overcome the courage and fortitude of the defenders: they inflicted a strong defeat on the besiegers and strengthened themselves in Karachev . Tsar Vasily Shuisky awarded the Bryansk governor M.F. Kashin and A.N. Rzhevsky gold. At the royal invitation of the governor, Mikhail Fyodorovich Kashin and Andrei Nikitich Rzhevsky arrived from Bryansk to Moscow, where they received a fur coat and a cup as a reward. During the audience, Andrei Rzhevsky “ beat his forehead ” against Mikhail Kashin, telling the tsar: “ he was given a worse coat by Prince Mikhail Kashin; evo de, sovereign, in Bryansk there was no name, but de service was also mine, thy servant; led, sovereign, to find out about all the army. On August 21, 1611, boyar Mikhail Fyodorovich Kashin died, having become a monk before his death.
Family
Prince Boyar Mikhail Fyodorovich Kashin-Obolensky was married to Efimia Afanasyevna, from whom he had two sons: Ivan, captain (d. 1632 ) and Dmitry (d. 1632 ).
