Biography
Gustave Bouchard was born in 1842 in the city of Paris in the family of the French physician and pharmacist , which, apparently, predetermined his future fate [6] .
Since 1881 he occupied the Department of Mineralogy and Hydrology at the Higher Pharmaceutical School of the French capital [6] .
He studied organic chemistry in the Berthelot laboratory [6] . The scientific work of the scientist mainly related to the study of sugars and terpenes [7] . In 1878, G. Bushard discovered the reaction of converting isoprene into a rubbery mass (see Rubber ).
Gustave Bouchard died November 22, 1918 in his hometown.
