Born July 11, 1978 in Ottawa , ( Ontario , Canada ) in the family of a diplomat [4] and part of her youth, spent in Korea [5] and Switzerland. Her father Leonard Edwards, a former deputy foreign minister, began teaching his daughter how to play the violin from the age of 5 and continued this business for another 12 years [6] . As a teenager, she listened to many recordings of her brother, for example, Neil Young and Bob Dylan [7] .
In 2008, Edwards sang backing vocals on the album of 11 Canadian rock singer Bryan Adams , and performed with him on his concert tour. In 2009, she and Adams sang his song “Walk on By” on stage [8] . In 2011, Edwards sang along with Canadian rock band Arkells ' Agent Zero, from their second album, Michigan Left . Soft Place to Land, one of two songs from the Kathleen Voyageur album, co-written with John Roderick , frontman for the rock band The Long Winters , won the 2012 Canadian Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers title Echo Songwriting Prize [9 ] .
