Known only according to the message of Adam of Bremen , who, speaking about the events of 935–936, writes, “then in Sveonia a certain Ring ruled with his sons Herich [Eric] and Edmund” [1] . Historians suggest that around 940, Eric succeeded his father and shared power with his uncle Björn Erickson .
Actually, Scandinavian medieval sources do not know either Eric Ringsson or his father Ring Ericsson and claim that Björn Ericsson inherited power directly from his father Eric Anundson [2] [3] .
Perhaps the son of Eric Ringsson was Emund Ericsson , mentioned by Adam of Bremen under the 970s as an ally of the Danish king Harald Sinezuby , but there are other versions regarding the genealogy of Emund Ericsson.
