1997 Golden Mask Prize Laureates
The 1997 jury included - George Taratorkin (actor), Vasily Bochkarev (actor), Svyatoslav Belza (music critic), Yuri Vedeneev (singer), Tatyana Golikova (ballerina and teacher), Marina Dmitrevskaya (theater critic), Yuri Eremin (director ), Valery Kichin (art critic), Boris Lvov-Anokhin (director), Boris Lyubimov (theater critic), Anna Nekrylova (theater critic), Alexander Orlov (stage designer), Olga Ostroumova (actress), Alexander Svobodin (theater critic), Zurab Sotkilava (singer), Sergei Taraman (actor), Alexander Felixstowe (actor), Nata rd Chernoff (music critic), Konstantin Scherbakov (Deputy. m. of Culture), Mark Ermler (conductor) [7] .
The award ceremony was held on March 24, 1997 [8] at the Vakhtangov Theater [9] . The idea of the ceremony, carried out according to the plan of the director Vladimir Mirzoyev , was "the funeral of the theater in the XX century." Leading Julia Rutberg and Sergey Makovetsky were dressed in the costumes of grave diggers, Oksana Mysina pronounced monologues on behalf of the ghost Alice Koonen . “Everything was very deconstructive. The audience squealed with anger ... "," Closer to the final, the gallery began to whistle and shout indecent ... " - this is how some publications recall this ceremony [10] [11] [12] .
Alexander Kalyagin (chairman of the STD of the Russian Federation since 1996) acknowledged the failure of the final ceremony of 1997 in an interview with Izvestia , but did not agree with the critics who, in his opinion, had made a fuss about receiving the main prize at the Omsk Theater, and promised to take a more thorough approach to organize the following Golden Masks [13] .
In 2006, the Novaya Gazeta newspaper published the opinion of Eduard Boyakov (he headed the festival’s directorate from 1996 to 2005): “ The more time passes, the more it is clear that this was the best ceremony. Everyone remembers her. ” [10]
The table of laureates is compiled on the basis of the officially published list of the awarded [14] .
