Consisted of military service; Despite the repeated prohibitions of King Frederick William I , he became a confidant of the Crown Prince and was initiated into the latter's flight plan. All correspondence concerning flight escaped through his hands. After the discovery of the plan, Catte was sentenced by a military court to be executed by beheading in front of the dungeon windows of the Crown Prince in Kyustrin .
