Sivert Höym ( Norwegian. Sivert Høyem ; born January 22, 1976 ) is a Norwegian singer , best known as the vocalist of the rock band Madrugada . After the band broke up due to the death of Robert Buras in 2007, he began to enjoy success as a solo artist; He is also the frontman for The Volunteers, with whom he released Exiles in 2006.

The early years and personal life
Höim is the son of forestry teacher Asbjörn Höym and politician Jörun Drevlan. Originally from Kleiva, located near Sortland . Before moving to Oslo in 1995, he attended the Sortland Gymnasium. After graduation, he received a bachelor's degree in history from the University of Oslo [1] .
Musical career
Madrugada
Heyme gained fame in the late 1990s when Madrugada released her debut album Industrial Silence in Norway. Members of the group were: Sivert Hoym (vocals), Frode Jacobsen (bass) and Robert Buras (guitar). After the death of Buras on July 12, 2007, Heim and Jacobsen decided to end the recording of their last album. An album called Madrugada was released on January 21, 2008. After the release of the album, the group announced that it would cease to exist after the farewell tour. The last concert was held on November 15, 2008 in the Oslo Spectrum .
Solo career
In the past few years, he has been successful as a solo artist, releasing the albums Ladies and Gentlemen of the Opposition (2004), Moon Landing (2009), Long Slow Distance (2011) and others.
Heim created his own band The Volunteers, which included:

In 2006, together with the band The Volunteers, released the album Exiles . He toured with his band in May 2007 playing at festivals throughout Norway. In December 2009, he finished another tour with his group. In an April 2012 interview on Greek radio, he clearly stated that he would not release any other albums with The Volunteers.
In September 2010, Sivert Höyme released the song “Prisoner of the road” to raise awareness for the Norwegian Refugee Council , which became a laureate of the Norwegian National Telethon.
In 2015, the song “Black & Gold” was chosen as the opening for the Norwegian series Occupied ( Norwegian Okkupert ).
