Marina Dmitrievna Zerova (b. December 29, 1934 , Kiev ) - Ukrainian entomologist , a major specialist in chalcidoid riders ( Eurytomidae , Torymidae , Ormyridae ). Doctor of Biological Sciences (1980), Professor (1989), Honored Worker of Science and Technology of Ukraine (2003), Winner of the D. K. Zabolotny Prize, Academy of Sciences of the Ukrainian SSR (1981) [1] . The head science institute of the Institute of Zoology. І. І. Shmalgauzena National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine (Kiev) .

Biography
Born December 29, 1934 in a family of famous Ukrainian scientists, botanist Dmitry Zerov and mycologist Maria Zerova . Niece of Ukrainian poets and literary critics, Nikolai Zerov and Mikhail Zerov [1] [2] .
- 1957 - graduated from the Faculty of Biology of the University of Kiev and began working at the University Zoological Museum.
- 1963 - postgraduate study and work in the Department of General and Applied Entomology of the I. I. Schmalhausen Institute of Zoology of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine ( Kiev )
- 1966 - defended her thesis on the topic "Isosomes (Chalcidoidea, Eurytomidae, Harmolitinae) of Ukraine (systematics, ecology, economic importance)."
- 1979 - defended her doctoral dissertation on the topic "Chalcides-eurytomids (Hymenoptera, Chalcidoidea): morphological and biological features, evolution and classification"
- 1981 - Laureate of the D.K. Zabolotny Prize, Academy of Sciences of the Ukrainian SSR
- 1989 - professor
- 1981–2011 - Head of the Laboratory of Systematics of Entomophages and Ecological Foundations of the Biomethod of the Institute of Zoology of the NAS of Ukraine, created on the initiative of Zerova. In 1986, the laboratory was transformed into the Department, which she led from its inception until 2011.
- 2003 - Honored Worker of Science and Technology of Ukraine
Major works
The founder of the school for the study of parasitic hymenoptera ( Eurytomidae , Torymidae , Ormyridae ), prepared 3 doctors and 14 candidates of biological sciences. He is the author of more than 200 articles and 15 monographs (including in the series “Fauna of Ukraine” and “Fauna of the USSR”) devoted to parasitic riders of Ukraine and the world fauna, their role as entomophages in agrocenoses and natural ecosystems. Participated in writing.
