Australia , including Tasmania [1] [2] .

Description

Length about 3 mm (females macropterous). The antennae of the females consist of a 3-segmented mace and a flagellum of 8 segments. The body is dark brown with a metallic sheen. Legs are tan. The species was first described in 1988 by Czech-British hymenopterologist Zdenek Bouček (1924-2011) under the original name Tasmanastatus scaposus Boucek, 1988 , and in 1995 it was included in the genus Calymmochilus [1] [3] .
