Max Martin understood the key role of mentoring for success in the music industry in the early 1990s when working as an assistant with his mentor Dennis Pop , without whom, according to his statement, he would still sing in the second-rate metal band It's Alive . ^[1] Having tried to be a mentor for New York DJ Lukash himself Luke Gottwald in 2004 and Swedish schoolboy Johan Shellback Schuster in 2007, whose first songs became world hits, Martin decided to set up a camp for the development of young Swedish musicians named Juhan Wolf Cousins , Black Wolf Cousins . Black Wolf is an initially negative character in the Swedish comic about the Bamsi bear cub (from which the nickname Cherepashkin - Shellback was also taken), which became kind thanks to the constant care from Bamsi.

In 2013, Julius Petersson , a consultant at the Warner Music Group , began searching for new composers. He invited ten unknown, not having a contract with labels, but productive Swedish composers up to thirty years. By the end of 2014, the group consisted of six producers and one composer - Tove Lu . ^[2] In the summer of 2016, according to various sources, the company includes about 25 musicians ^[3] and two illustrator artists - Robert Mollard, whose paintings are hanging in the studios, and his sister, Madeleine Mollard, the artist-designer of the album Tove Lou Truth Serum and the video clip Habits .

Unlike the usual type of collaboration in the studio - co-authorship, Martin and Johan try to minimize their contribution to the final product, limiting themselves to the direction of the creative process, or inviting them to participate in the writing of an already begun composition. ^[four]

One of the studio participants in the first year achieved world fame under the name Tove Lu.
