Biography

He received his doctor’s degree at the medical faculty of Vienna University in 1936, where he studied the psychology of Adler and Jung. In 1938 he emigrated from the Nazis to the United States. His parents died in Auschwitz .

I became interested in homeopathy after meeting with a homeopathist Elizabeth Wright Hubbard , which he studied in the 1940s. He also then collaborated with Maesimund Panos.

Whitmont traveled to Switzerland to meet with Carl Gustav Jung and corresponded with him.

One of the founders of the International Association of Analytical Psychology and the New York Institute of Jung.

Spouse, four sons and two daughters.

Author of a number of books, including on homeopathy. His book The Symbolic Quest (1969) is called the first devoted to the practical application of Jung's theory in therapeutics.
