Vrakuni ( Slovak: Cintorín Vrakuňa ) - a cemetery in Bratislava , in the urban area of Vrakuni on Gagarin Street . Until 2013, it was called the Ruzhinov Cemetery (colloquially, the Ruzhinovskoye Cemetery ).
The construction of the cemetery began in 1972 [1] , the first person was buried here in 1980 [2] . Despite the fact that the cemetery lies outside the Ruzhinov district, it was called the “Ruzhinov” cemetery , since it was assumed that for the most part the inhabitants of this region would be buried.
On March 27, 2013, city council deputies decided to rename the cemetery by a majority vote, and the vote itself was initiated by the deputies of the Vrakun city district [3] .
