Biography

Abner Lloveras was born on September 4, 1982 in Barcelona .

He debuted in mixed martial arts in August 2004 in England, but lost his first fight due to a leg injury in the third round. Despite the defeat, he continued to enter the ring in various English promotions, and in 2006 won the tournament of the Japanese organization Shooto, who had arrived in Spain. One of the most serious rivals in this period for him was Phillip Nover , whom he met in the USA and lost by decision of the majority of judges [1] .

With five victories, three losses and one draw on the track record, in 2007, Lloveras joined the large fighter organization M-1 Global , where he spent a lot of successful battles with good fighters, won five victories in a row, went through a series of qualifying tournaments and was awarded the right to challenge vacant welterweight champion title. Another candidate for the tiutl was the Russian Shamil Zavurov , and Lloveras could not get the better of him - in the fourth round he lost by technical knockout.

Subsequently, Abner Lloveras quite successfully performed in less prestigious organizations in the United States and Spain. In April 2015, he won the lightweight champion title of the German promotion Respect FC and attracted the attention of the largest world promotion UFC - took part in the twenty-second season of the fighting reality show The Ultimate Fighter , where he won against the first two rivals, but lost in the quarterfinals controversial split decision. At the final tournament, the show met Chris Groitzmacher and lost to him by unanimous decision. Also in this goal he fought with an experienced Englishman Andre Winner , losing by a separate decision of the judges [2] [3] .

In addition to MMA, Lloveras also performed in kickboxing and boxing. In kickboxing, he became the champion of Spain among amateurs (2005), in boxing he won the Spanish national championship three times (2010, 2011, 2012) [4] [5] .
