Neoxenus globosus (lat.) Is a fossil species of beetle insects of the genus Neoxenus from the family of pseudo-elephants ( Anthribidae ). Found in Miocene Dominican amber ( Haiti , Caribbean, North America ). Age from 13.65 to 20.43 million years [1] (according to other sources, up to 40 million years) [2] .

Content
Description
Body length 2.9 mm, rostrum length 0.5 mm (wide, equal to 0.4 of pronotum length). Breast punctured. The eyes are rounded. Lateral pronotal carina absent. The body is black, with small setae on the elytra. The species was first described in 2016 by the American paleoentomologist George Poynar ( George Poinar Jr ; Department of Integrative Biology, Oregon State University , Corvallis , Oregon , USA ) and the Russian coleopterologist Andrei Legalov ( Institute of Animal Systematics and Ecology SB RAS , Novosibirsk , Russia ) [ 1] [3] .
