Gameplay
The player controls the movement of the cube, which rolls through the levels, looking for a way out of the maze. In this case, falls outside the maze and blocking the path should be avoided. For a short time, the cube can “stick” to the walls with one of the ribs. Rainbow prisms are scattered on the levels. The score that the player will receive when passing the level (from "D" to "S") depends on the number of collected prisms. Also, the estimate depends on the amount of time spent.
The game has 48 levels, where the next are more difficult than the previous ones. At the end, the enemy appears - a black cube, which in the 45th level needs to be surpassed and thrown off the maze. After that, if the player has collected all the prisms in the previous ones, three more levels of increased complexity are opened.
The game is made in a minimalist style. Most objects on the levels are made up of cubes. Elements of the mazes can move or change their properties, preventing the player from passing. So there are floors that fall behind the cube, walls that repel it. The solution to some puzzles requires pressing a cube of buttons that trigger the corresponding changes in the maze. To pass some places, the cube should decrease, becoming on a special platform. Then he gains the ability to roll over vertical surfaces.
An extended version called EDGE Extended has an updated engine that provides a more realistic perspective, support for 4xMSAA image smoothing and 15 additional levels [1] .
