Biography
Born in the family of the actor and director Vasily Vasilievich Lugsky , one of the founders of the Moscow Artistic . In 1918 he graduated from the Law Faculty of Moscow University .
Since 1915, he studied at the School of Dramatic Art with N.O. Massalitinov and N.G. Aleksandrov .
He performed on the Moscow Art Theater from August 1916 to September 1952, then moved to the Maly Theater . In 1953-1954 he played at the Pushkin Moscow Drama Theater, from 1954 to 1960 - at the Maly Theater. Since the spring of 1917 he was the head of the troupe and the repertoire of the Moscow Art Theater. He led the military-sponsorship commission of the Moscow Art Theater.
He played 43 roles in the Moscow Art Theater, mostly episodic:

His wife was Olga Sergeyevna Bokshanskaya [1] (1891–1948), secretary of the Moscow Art Theater Directorate and personal secretary of V. I. Nemirovich-Danchenko (since 1919), the elder sister of Elena Sergeyevna Bulgakova , the third wife of writer and playwright Mikhail Afanasevich Bulgakov .
He is one of the characters in the theatrical world of "The Theater Novel " by Mikhail Afanasevich Bulgakov .
