He worked closely with academician of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR and the Russian Academy of Sciences Yu.S. Stepanov and with the first professor of the faculty of Romano-Germanic philology at KemSU, a well-known philologist-Germanist, one of the largest experts in the field of historical linguistics N.V. Feoktistova.
Together with N. N. Kazansky, B. P. Narumvy, O. M. Savelieva, N. L. Sukhachev participated in the translation from French into Russian of the “Dictionary of Indo-European Social Terms” by E. Benvenista.
Biography
Born in 1963 in Novosibirsk . In 1985, he graduated with honors from Kemerovo State University with a degree in English and Literature, and received the qualification of philologist, teacher of English, translator.
In 1990, at the Institute of Linguistics of the Russian Academy of Sciences (Moscow), under the leadership of N.V. Feoktistova, he defended his dissertation on the topic: “Old English spatial vocabulary of conceptualized areas”, in 1999 at the same institute he defended his doctoral dissertation on the topic: “Conceptual systems in Indo-European language and culture ”, specialties 10.02.04 - Germanic languages, 10.02.19 - general linguistics, sociolinguistics, psycholinguistics.
Deals with the problems of Indo-European languages and cultures. He has extensive teaching experience, worked at Kemerovo State University, Novosibirsk State Pedagogical University, Tomsk Polytechnic University [1] , Kemerovo Technological University, Moscow State Linguistic University (formerly Moris Torez Moscow State Pedagogical Institute of Foreign Languages), etc.
Sergey Gennadievich published a series of articles in leading research journals and collections of scientific papers, both domestic and foreign, including in the magazines , Linguistics, Criticism and Semiotics, etc.

Laboratory of Semiotics and Sign Systems
Sergey Gennadievich manages the laboratory and takes an active part in its work. In the laboratory, special attention is paid to the interdisciplinary theory of the sign, as well as linguosemiotics, semiotics of culture and semiotics of law. The interdisciplinary base of semiotic studies makes their results relevant for a wide range of specialists both in Russia and abroad. The work of scientists is coordinated by organizations such as the International Association of Semiotic Research , the Royal Society of Canada , the Semiotic Society of America, etc.
