Biography
He graduated from the military academy École d'État Major and École de Guerre in France. Tongwan Fanmung was a Republican and held anti-communist rightist views. He held the rank of General of the Khmer National Armed Forces (FUNK). During the civil war of 1970-1975. participated in hostilities against the Khmer Rouge. In October 1972, he made an official visit to Taiwan on the occasion of the holiday of Two Dozen , where he headed the delegation of Cambodia (Khmer Republic) [1] .
He was in the close circle of the Chief of Staff of the Funk General Sostene Fernandez . Replaced him in this post after his resignation in the spring of 1975. In April 1975 he participated in the defense of Phnom Penh , commanded the remnants of the army of Lon Nol . He was the last commander of the republican army remaining in Phnom Penh.
