Biography
Born October 2, 1899 in Sheffield. In 1916 he entered the University of London, from which he graduated in 1921. One diploma seemed to him a little, and then in the same year he entered the University of Cambridge, which he graduated in 1924. The administration kept the graduate in her office and from 1924 to 1929 worked as a research assistant. In 1929 he left the main building of the University of Cambridge, but did not leave the university itself - in 1929 he was elected director of the hospital at the university and worked until 1941. In 1941 he returned to the main building and up to 1947 headed the metabolism section. In 1947, he decided to connect his life with Canada and moved to where he was immediately elected a professor of biochemistry at the University of Montreal and worked until 1966. In 1966, he moved to the University of British Columbia, where he was elected a professor in the department of neurochemistry and biochemistry and worked until his death.
He died on October 15, 1987 in Canada, 13 days after the celebration of his 88th birthday.
