Kartashevsky - Russian noble family .
It comes from the Polish immigrant Ivan Kartashevsky , who left for Ukraine and was a protopope in Poltava . His son Yakim was a military comrade ( 1720 ). Grigory Ivanovich Kartashevsky (1777-1840) was a senator, his wife was Nadezhda Timofeevna Aksakova . Their son Nikolai (died in 1880 ) participated with honors in the defense of Sevastopol and was a lieutenant general.
The Kartashevsky family was included in the first, second, and third parts of the genealogy book of the Orenburg , Poltava , Kharkov, and Chernihiv provinces . ( Herbovnik , X, 147).

Another genus is the offspring of Zakhary Ivanovich Kartashevsky , a military comrade and a deputy of the Commission of the new Code of 1767.
Emblem Description
In the oval shield there is a walled pyramid crowned with the imperial crown. The inscriptions: “Bliss of each and everyone” at the top, “December 14, 1766” at the bottom (the sign of the deputies of the Commission for writing the draft new Code, which, according to the manifesto of Catherine II of December 14, 1766, deputies could put on their coats of arms).
