History
The Medal of the Air Force "For Faithful Service" was established on May 1, 1982 with the aim of encouraging military personnel of the air force who underwent full initial military service and transferred to the reserve, as well as air force officers, after receiving military education service and retired. At each next call for military retraining, a gilded five-pointed star is attached to the medal ribbon, but not more than three.

Description
Round bronze medal.
Obverse bears the emblem of the Norwegian Air Force: a diving falcon under the heraldic royal crown , below the emblem is a laurel wreath of two branches.
The reverse is an inscription around the circumference: “LUFTFORSVARET - FOR FRED OG FRIHET” ( Air Force - For Peace and Freedom ).
Ribbon medal silk moire 35 mm. wide blue with ten thin stripes of white.
