Biography

Born November 29, 1916 in Orlovka. In 1937, he got a job without education at the Far Eastern Research Institute of Agriculture. In 1943, despite the formidable battles of the Second World War , he entered the I.V. Michurin Fruit and Vegetable Institute with the aim of further training, which he graduated in 1948 and a little later, in 1951, completed graduate school at this institute. After graduation, he returned to the Far Eastern Research Institute of Agriculture as a technician and researcher. In 1961 he was elected director of the institute and worked in this position until 1989. From 1987 to 1989, he held the position of Director General of NPO Amur. In 1990, in connection with the reorganization of the Far Eastern Research Institute of Agriculture, he was appointed honorary director and worked in this position until his death. He raised many students who, by now, have become famous biologists and work in Kamchatka, Sakhalin, Magadan, Ussuriysk, Blagoveshchensk and other regions of the Russian Federation .

He died on September 29, 2001 in Vostochny.

Scientific activity

The main scientific works are devoted to selection, cultivation and agricultural technology of fruit plants and grapes in the Far East. The author of over 500 scientific works [1] , 50 books and brochures, 13 certificates of authorship for inventions.

  • Bred more than 50 varieties of plums, cherries and apricots using the hybridization method, which were highly appreciated in production.
  • He participated in the development of mechanized technologies for the cultivation of agricultural crops and agricultural systems in the Far East.
