The range of the nominative subspecies: South and Southeast Asia, New Guinea, Hawaii, Taiwan [1] .

Description

Fawn wasps with black markings. The length of females of the nominative subspecies is 25-27 mm, males 20-27 mm; the length of the front wing of the females is 19.5 mm, for males 17.5 mm. They have a thin long stalk of the abdomen ( petiol ). The species was first described in 1775 by the Danish entomologist Johann Christian Fabrice [1] [2] [3] .
