Biography
Born March 18, 1885 in the village of Proruba u Polshtyna. In 1903 he entered the Charles University, which he graduated in 1908. Thanks to his successful performance in school, he, along with his diploma, also received his Ph.D. He was twice elected a professor - first by the Higher Veterinary School (he worked in the post for 5 years from 1928 to 1933), then at the Graduate School of Agriculture (he worked in the post for 27 years from 1933 to 1960) in Brno . Since 1960, retired.
He died on August 19, 1973 in Brno.
Scientific Works
The main scientific works are devoted to experimental plant morphology. He studied the phenomenon of correlation of plant organs. Investigated phytohormones and toxic substances of plants. Discovered zoospores in green algae of the genus Caulepra .
