Hyundai Vinashin Shipyard (HVS) - the largest shipbuilding and ship repair company in Vietnam , one of the largest industrial companies in the country, is one of the twenty largest Vietnamese companies [1] . A joint venture of the South Korean corporation Hyundai Mipo Dockyard (70%) and the Vietnamese state group Vinashin (Vietnam Shipbuilding Industry Group) [2] [3] [4] [5] .

Content
History
The company was founded in September 1996 as a joint venture of Vinashin (Vietnam Shipbuilding Industry Group) and Hyundai Heavy Industries. Among the first customers of the Hyundai Vinashin Shipyard were oil and gas platforms, floating cranes, tankers and auxiliary vessels of Vietsovpetro and Pertamina . Later, oil ships from Wilmar International , dry cargo carriers and container ships from Hyundai Merchant Marine , Geden Lines , D / S Norden , Hangsung Line and Suisse Atlantique [6] were added to them.
One of the largest customers of the Hyundai Vinashin Shipyard is the state shipping company Vietnam National Shipping Lines (Vinalines). Hyundai Vinashin Shipyard is actively involved in charity work, helping the poor of Khanh Hoa province [7] , and also sponsors Vietnamese football [8] .
Production Facilities and Products
Hyundai Vinashin Shipyard specializes in the construction, repair, painting and disposal of oil platforms , floating cranes , drilling rigs and marine vessels (mainly bulk carriers of the Kamsarmax category, oil and gas tankers , as well as barges ). It has two dry docks with a capacity of 400 thousand and 80 thousand deadweight , moorings 1500 meters long, cranes with a lifting capacity of 450 and 250 tons, magnetic cranes, powerful presses, as well as several workshops (cutting, painting, electrical) [2] [9] .
For its employees, Hyundai Vinashin Shipyard provides a number of services (the plant has a restaurant, bar, sports club, Internet cafe, library and hairdresser) [10] . The company also owns a comfortable hotel with 60 rooms (the complex includes a pool, sports club and conference room) [11] .
