About the album
The album topped the Billboard 200 American hit parade, being in position No. 1 for seven weeks (intermittently, returning to it four times) [13] . The most successful songs from the album were the first ones released “Hey Ya!” And “The Way You Move”. “Hey Ya!” Hit the charts in 28 countries and stayed on the first line of the Billboard Hot 100 chart for nine weeks [14] . And immediately after it, the single “The Way You Move” took first place, which was a repeat of a half-century record. A similar situation of self-substitution at the top of the chart occurred for the first time since 1964, when the Beatles singles performed the same thing [15] .
The album received positive reviews from music critics and online publications: Metacritic (91 out of 100) [16] , AllMusic [1] , Entertainment Weekly [3] , Blender [2] , The Guardian [4] , The Independent [5] , Stylus Magazine [11] , NME [7] , Slant Magazine [17] , Rolling Stone [9] , Pitchfork Media [8] , The Village Voice , Robert Christgau [10] , The New Rolling Stone Album Guide [18] .
In 2009, NME magazine included the Speakerboxxx / The Love Below album on its list of 100 Best Albums of the Decade under number 44 [19] , and Newsweek magazine ranked the album first in the list of the best albums of the decade [20] . In 2012, Complex magazine named the album one of the classic discs of the decade [21] . In 2013, NME included Speakerboxxx / The Love Below at number 183 in its list of the top 500 albums of all time [22] . The album is also included in the book 1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die ( Rus. Thousand and one music album, which is worth listening to before you die ) [23] .
On February 8, 2004, the album was awarded three Grammy Music Awards , including in the category Best Album of the Year , Best Rap Album , Best Urban / Alternative Performance (for “Hey Ya!”) [24] .
