Altu Cemetery in the Name of St. John ( Port. Cemitério do Alto de São João ) is a cemetery in the Altu do Pina district of Lisbon County. One of the largest and most famous necropolises in the metropolitan area of Greater Lisbon and the burial place of its inhabitants.

The cemetery was founded in 1833 at the direction of Queen Mary II as after a catastrophic cholera epidemic for the inhabitants of Lisbon. Until now, it is valid. At the time of the First Republic declared a memorial.
The central part is located in a park with cypress and eucalyptus alleys. The necropolis of St. John is one of the city’s historical cemeteries with countless mausoleums and family crypts, richly decorated with sculptures, small decorative plastics and memorial symbols.
In 1925, the country's first crematorium was opened here, closed several years later for political reasons. It was reopened in 1985 and is still operating.
