Amy Holland (born Amy Celeste Buersma ) (born May 15, 1953 ) is an American pop-rock singer. She received a Grammy Award for Best New Artist in 1981 for her self-titled debut album containing the song How Do I Survive "Included in the Billboard Hot 100 .

Biography
Holland is of Dutch origin. She changed the surname of Buerzm to Holland in honor of her original homeland, as this would be better for her musical career. Her mother is country music star Esmereldy [1] , and her father is the opera pepper Harry Boersma ( born Harry Boersma ) [2] . The first album, Amy Holland, released in 1980 and produced by Doobie Brothers vocalist Michael MacDold (and became Holland's spouse three years later) contained the hit song “ How Do I Survive ”, which finished 22nd on the Billboard Hot 100 [3] . The second album, On Your Every Word , released in 1983, contained the single “Ain't Nothing Like the Real Thing” / “You're All I Need to Get By” with Chris Christian, 88th in the Billboard Hot 100, as well as 21st place on the Adult Contemporary chart . In the same year, two of her songs entered the soundtrack for the film “ The Scarface ”. One of Holland's songs, recorded for Scarface, She's on Fire , is also used in the Grand Theft Auto III video game. As the wife of Michael MacDonald, she performed as a backing vocalist in the recordings of bands such as First Call [4] .
In 2008, Holland released The Journey to Miracle River on Chonin Records. The producer was an old friend of Bernie Chiaravalle ( born Bernie Chiaravalle , vocalist and guitarist Michael MacDonald since 1988). This album was recorded in Nashville over an 8-year period. Holland co-authored 10 of the 12 songs written by Ciaravall, along with authors such as John Magnin Goodwin , John Wazner and Michael McDonald. The rest of the songs were composed by Robben Ford and Chazz Fritchel ( English Chazz Frichtel ). Musicians: Bernie Chiaravall (guitar, bass, keyboards, drums and vocals), Shannon Forrest ( Eng. Shannon Forrest ) (drums), Vincent Gill (vocals), Michael MacDonald (keyboards, vocals), John Dadrick ( Eng. John Deaderick ) (keyboards), Tim Akers (keyboards), Stuart Duncan (violin), Tim Lorsch English (Tim Lorsch ) (violin), Dylan McDonald ( Dylan McDonald ) (vocals) and Dylan Morrison ( Dylan Morrison ) (bass). They are about to start recording their fourth album, which Holland announced on her Facebook page .
Holland and her husband Michael MacDonald live in Nashville, Tenn. They have two children - Dylan ( born Dylan , born in 1987) and Scarlett ( born Scarlett , born in 1991).
